Jazz Artists "Bring it on Home" to Exhibit at Briar Patch Cafe: with Music from Bill Douglass, Nora Nausbaum & inya eeya

May 10, 2009, Grass Valley, California –World-famous local artists E.J. Gold, Grace Kelly Rivera, Douglass-Truth and R.C. Trice, are exhibiting a selection of their JazzArt® paintings in Grass Valley's Briar Patch Cafe, June 6 through July 6, 2009.

Gold, Rivera, Truth & Trice were the artists chosen to exhibit at the grand, spectacular opening of San Francisco's new Jazz Heritage Center, and in the recent, much-acclaimed Cool City ... Hot Jazz exhibit at Jazz Heritage Center's Lush Life Gallery.

E.J. Gold is well-known throughout the jazz community, chosen as the Official Artist of the International Association of Jazz Education, his JazzArt® appearing on stage with jazz greats including Dave Brubeck, Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Nancy Wilson, Nneena Freelon, Marion McPartland, Chick Corea and others; and at the Hollywood Bowl, B.B. King's in New York City, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and many, many performance venues. Gold's portrait of Herbie Hancock is in the Smithsonian – in the permanent collection of the American Museum of Natural History.

In addition to being a widely-exhibited artist, whose works have shown on the European continent and in the former Soviet Union, Rivera is a Flamenco dancer who has performed locally with the group Flamenco del Oro, and a perfumer specializing in the creation of intentional and spiritually relevant atmospheres.

Douglass-Truth is an award-winning author as well as a painter whose collectors number in the hundreds. He operates the Teahouse of Danger in Grass Valley, where he performs and shows his work and offers his books, prints and other unique creations.

R.C. Trice is an accomplished harmonica player as well as a painter. His paintings are in the permanent collections of both the Nevada County Courthouse and the Eric Rood Administration Center. Trice's band, inya eeya, will play at the Opening Party for the Briar Patch Cafe Jazz Art Exhibit, on Sunday, June 14th, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Party, which will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will be free and open to the public.

An additional musical highlight of the Jazz Art Exhibit is Bill Douglass and Nora Nausbaum jazz duo, papa and momma of Jazz Camp. They will be performing at the Jazz Art exhibit on Sunday, June 21st from 11 am to noon. Click here for more information on Bill Douglass and Nora Nausbaum.

The Briar Patch Cafe Jazz Art Exhibit will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily from June 6th through July 6th.
